Light, colour and everyday life
The Impressionists painted outdoors and quickly, in broken colour: water lilies, haystacks, boulevards, dancers and riverside picnics. Their copyrights expired long ago, and the museums that hold the paintings now release their photographs under CC0.
These pages gather works by Monet, Renoir, Pissarro, Sisley, Morisot, Degas and the Post-Impressionists who followed (Van Gogh, Cézanne, Seurat, Gauguin) from the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Art Institute of Chicago and the Cleveland Museum of Art, with Wikimedia Commons scans from other collections.
Using them
CC0 has no conditions: crop details, print them, use them on packaging or in an ad. A caption with the artist, title, year and museum is good practice and helps readers. For print, download the original; for the web, a 1600 px copy.
